Form 4 – To be Submitted upon any Request for Extension of Time.

Extension of time shall be sought for the following processes upon payment of such fees as prescribed by the Patent Office,

1. Delay in payment of Patent Maintenance / renewal Fees
2. Delay in Payment of Patent Maintenance / renewal fees after grant / entry in the register from the 2nd year of filing the patent application until the year on which the invention got patent granted.
3. Delay in Filing Declaration as to Inventorship through Form 5
4. Delay in filing request for examination of a patent application
5. Delay in making an application for the review of the decisions or setting aside the orders of the Controller

Form 4 shall contain the

• Process for which extension of time is sought,
• Amount of time extension sought,
• Section / Rule under which the time extension is sought, and
• the reason for which the delay or extension time is sought.
