Rule 19J – Processing of Demands for International Preliminary Examination

Upon receiving an demand for International Preliminary Examination, the examining authority shall assign an identification mark ‘IPEA/IN’ (International Preliminary Examination Authority/India) and notify the applicant and the International Bureau –If it is competent to perform the international preliminary examination.

If the Examining Authority is not competent to perform the international preliminary examination, the demand shall be transmitted promptly to the International Bureau.
